About the Role:

Typical Day in the Role:

  • Purpose of the Team: The team creates AAA franchise encompasses games, television series, novels, comics, licensed collectibles, apparel and more.
  • Key projects: This role will be build the next generation of games and experiences in our award-winning sci-fi universe.
  • Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: Typical day in the role will include work closely with the Art leads, Concept Artists, and the production team to define a communication strategy and provide direction and feedback to partner teams. Develop and maintain a high understanding of the game universe and the constraints of technology.

Candidate Requirements

  • Years of Experience Required: 5 years of overall industry experience
  • Degrees or certifications required: No specific degree required
  • Disqualifiers: Resumes that have constant job hopping/low tenure on past roles, and lack of a portfolio: should be heavy on the art side will not be eligible for the role.
  • Best vs. Average: The ideal candidate would have Experience in the entertainment industry (Games/Film) At least One AAA title shipped, Experience using related software and packages (e.g., Photoshop, Blender, Unreal Engine, Maya, Substance Designer/Painter/Zbrush, SideFX Houdini, After Effects), A collaborative growth mindset, open to giving and receiving constructive criticism on a daily basis, and strong verbal and written communication.
  • Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work, meet deadlines, and feedback from the team.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

  • 2 years of experience with environmental storytelling and environmental design
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with Unreal
  • Minimum 1 year Experience with knowledge of game content and game content creation

Art Outsource Manager

  • The Art Outsource Manager plays a vital role, functioning as a communication hub between internal art teams and partner teams. This position requires deep organizational skills, a strong interest in optimizing workflows, and the ability to establish first-class communications. Experience working with teams across multiple continents, time zones, and varying management styles or communication methods is essential. A solid background in asset creation and world building within a modern game environment is required, along with the ability to move assets between depots, load content into test scenes, and write detailed, quality-oriented feedback for both internal and external staff. Building relationships with the production team, art leads, and partner teams across the studio is key to providing feedback and collaborating on the content library. A firm grasp of the practical aspects of content creation is necessary to assist the team in bringing the creative vision to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Art Leads, Concept Artists, and the Production Team to define a communication strategy and provide direction and feedback to partner teams.
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of the game universe and technological constraints.
  • Actively seek and incorporate feedback from leads and peers in asset creation teams, and provide feedback in kind.
  • Load, review, and where possible, fix content or write detailed feedback for content creation partners.
  • Document feedback loops and top-tier content sharing processes within the studio.
  • Manipulate content within DCCs.
  • Participate in creative discussions, brainstorms, and reviews across teams to facilitate and strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • Professional experience in art design or a related field within computer games or entertainment.
  • Knowledge of game content and game content creation processes.
  • Experience working in Unreal Engine.
  • Experience communicating art direction to asset creation and world-building teams.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in the entertainment industry (Games/Film) with at least one AAA title shipped.
  • Proficiency in related software and packages (e.g., Photoshop, Blender, Unreal Engine, Maya, Substance Designer/Painter/ZBrush, SideFX Houdini, After Effects).
  • A collaborative growth mindset and openness to giving and receiving constructive criticism daily.

Salary Range: $104,000-$112,000 Annually - Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
