Accountant – Centreville, VA (On-site) (Exempt)

Gridiron IT is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, working closely with various departments to provide insightful financial analysis and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, excellent analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and be involved in the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance.
• Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
• Perform reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, inventory and capitalized software.
• Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and assist with tax filings.
• Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes with direct interaction with the FP&A team.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems.
• Become proficient using the ERP system.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including IT, sales, and operations, to understand business activities and their financial implications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 4 years of combined corporate and public accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Experience with multi-currency and transfer pricing is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Sage Intacct.
• Expertise with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with intercompany and consolidation accounting.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $85,000 - $100,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
