Job Description

BitPay is seeking an AML Analyst  to join our Compliance and Risk team. This role focuses on merchant KYB onboarding, individual KYC verification, watchlist screening, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD). You’ll play a key part in protecting the company from financial crime while helping us maintain a strong and responsive compliance program. We’re looking for a proactive professional with sharp analytical skills, strong communication abilities, and a positive, team-oriented mindset. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain knowledge of US and global KYB / KYC best practices.
  • Review new merchants that apply for accounts via BitPay’s application process.  
  • Monitor and review merchant account details to ensure accounts are in good standing, legally operating their businesses, and within the Terms of Use.
  • Review individuals who are required to be verified per BitPay’s KYC procedures. 
  • Be in direct contact via email with our customers to answer questions related to compliance.
  • Conduct regular compliance monitoring and testing to assess the company’s compliance with all applicable laws/regulations and create written reports of findings.
  • Maintain procedures related to the KYC Program. 
  • Prepare Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reports and other analytical reports as necessary
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with senior leadership or senior executives of high risk accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to support onboarding of global clients.
  • Support internal testing and monitoring function.
  • Coordinate with various teams for training, escalations, and program enhancements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-5 years of experience in (AML) compliance or financial services industry.
  • Solid research, communications, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A self-starter mentality with the ability to work flexible hours and perform well under pressure.
  • Quick thinker, eager to learn and develop new skills.
  • Team-player with a good sense of humor.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • ACAMS Certifications.
  • Banking or financial background.
  • Must have experience with Know Your Business (KYB).
