About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Benefits Specialist to lead the administration and compliance of our employee benefits programs. This role plays a key part in ensuring our benefits offerings are competitive, compliant, and well-communicated across the organization. The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR professional with deep expertise in benefits, strong analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage comprehensive employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and voluntary offerings
  • Ensure all benefit programs comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits vendors and third-party administrators
  • Oversee the leave of absence program, ensuring full compliance with FMLA, ADA, and internal policies
  • Develop, maintain, and update internal benefits policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements
  • Manage the worker's compensation program, supporting employee claims and ensuring timely reporting and compliance
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits data and processes, and prepare detailed reports for internal use and regulatory purposes
  • Communicate benefits changes and updates clearly and effectively to employees and leadership
  • Provide training and guidance to HR staff and employees on benefit programs and compliance topics
  • Analyze benefits usage and cost data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement or cost savings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or CEBS, PHR, SPHR certification is a plus)
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in benefits administration with a strong compliance focus
  • Expertise in benefits regulations including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ADA
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
