Position Summary 

We are seeking a dynamic and scientifically curious Customer Support Scientist to join our growing team. This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of a Field Application Scientist (FAS) and Technical Support Specialist, offering a unique opportunity to engage directly with customers, troubleshoot complex scientific issues, and contribute to product development and marketing initiatives. 

 

This position requires the candidate to be based in the Fort Collins or Denver, Colorado area to support on-site customer visits and in-house collaboration. 

Ability to travel >50% of time is required. A driver’s license is required. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via email and phone, providing timely and accurate technical support. 
  • Design and execute troubleshooting experiments to investigate and resolve product performance issues and customer complaints. 
  • Conduct on-site and virtual customer visits for training, onboarding, and escalation support related to GT Molecular assays. 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop application notes, white papers, and other scientific content that highlights product capabilities. 
  • Perform product validation studies as a naïve user to ensure ease of use and robustness of new assay kits. 
  • Maintain detailed documentation of customer interactions, investigations, and outcomes in CRM and quality systems. 
  • Provide feedback to R&D and Product Management teams to inform product improvements and innovation. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field. PhD or Postdocs may apply. 
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role is required; experience in a scientific or technical support role is strongly preferred. 
  • Hands-on experience with qPCR, digital PCR, or other nucleic acid detection technologies is a plus. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design and interpret experiments independently. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable presenting to scientific audiences. 
  • Willingness to travel nationally for customer visits and training sessions. 
  • Excellent driving record. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience in scientific writing or content creation for marketing or educational purposes. 
  • Familiarity with ISO or other quality systems in a regulated environment. 
  • CRM or ticketing system experience (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk). 
  • Experience using Confluence and Jira. 

Wage Notice: $75,000 - $90,000. The base salary offered may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
