Director of Operations for Houston Corporate Office

Director of Operations Role

City Security Services is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead and scale our Houston division. This role is responsible for overseeing all security operations within a 25-mile radius of our corporate office, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction, strong employee engagement, operational efficiency, and financial performance. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a background in private contract security management. Additional law enforcement or military operations background is a plus. The ideal candidate is to drive results through people, processes, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client & Contract Management
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for high-value client relationships.
  • Ensure accounts are proactively managed, contract deliverables are met, and post orders are current.
  • Operational Leadership
  • Direct and mentor operations managers, developing them into high-performing leaders.
  • Monitor KPIs through TrackTik and other platforms to measure guard performance, reduce overtime, and improve profitability.
  • Conduct site audits, after-hours inspections, and compliance checks.
  • Employee Engagement & Compliance
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training to ensure compliance with Texas DPS licensing and company standards.
  • Foster a positive culture that promotes retention, career growth, and consistent communication.
  • Partner with HR on employee relations, payroll, scheduling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Deliver operational and financial reporting to identify trends and implement solutions.
  • Manage asset allocation (vehicles, radios, guard shacks, equipment) to sites.
  • Leverage data analytics to improve efficiency and strengthen client retention.
  • Business Development & Community Relations
  • Support sales efforts by identifying opportunities to expand client accounts.
  • Represent CSS with professionalism to build relationships with local law enforcement and community stakeholders.
  • Drive brand awareness, maintain safety standards, and recommend value-added services.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in contract security operations management (additinal military, law enforcement, or corporate operations background may be considered).
  • Flexible schedule with 24/7 on-call availability.
  • Strong working knowledge of TrackTik, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other security/operational software.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and exceed financial and operational goals.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check, MVR review, and drug screen.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Standing, walking, and site visits required with occasional lifting.
