Job Description

The Director, Procurement will serve as a builder, change agent, and trusted advisor to establish a center-led Procurement function at Fowler Packing Company (FPC), aligned to our envisioned roadmap. This role will partner with business stakeholders to develop and influence category strategies, to collaboratively manage strategic sourcing events, and to implement other procurement best practice that will maximize value to the enterprise and mitigate risks with external suppliers. Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Define, influence, and execute procurement strategies across direct and indirect categories.
  • Build a scalable procurement operating model aligned with company growth and maturity goals.
  • Develop and implement best-in-class sourcing practices and governance structures.

E-Sourcing & Digital Enablement

  • Lead the deployment and adoption of e-sourcing platforms.
  • Champion the use of digital tools & enablers to streamline sourcing, RFPs, P2P and other business transactions, contract management, and supplier performance tracking.
  • Drive automation, integrations and data analytics to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

Category Management Capability

  • Develop and influence both procurement teams and broader business stakeholders through training in category management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Establish procurement KPIs and implement performance management processes.
  • Embed procurement best practices into the broader organization through cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner closely with finance, legal, operations, and business unit leaders to align procurement strategies with business needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring procurement delivers value beyond cost savings.
  • Influence, challenge paradigms, and gain buy-in at all levels of the organization.

Supplier & Contract Management

  • Develop supplier relationship management strategies focused on innovation, quality, and performance.
  • Lead supplier-facing risk management initiatives including compliance, food safety requirements, and business continuity planning.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field required
  • 5-7 Years of total Procurement/Supply Chain Experience, with 2-4 as Manager or Director of Procurement
  • Expertise in E-Sourcing and Strategic Sourcing
  • Successful experience building or scaling centralized procurement capabilities and processes
  • Relevant industry background (agriculture, food production, manufacturing preferred)
  • Demonstrated project management effectiveness
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
