Fleet Maintenance Supervisor
We’re seeking a seasoned Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead and optimize operations across multiple repair facilities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of fleet maintenance across multiple yards, ensuring timely service, diagnostics, and major repairs of heavy-duty vehicles.
- Lead and support a team of mechanics and welders, assigning tasks and monitoring workflow to meet performance standards.
- Administer preventative maintenance programs and ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and internal safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records using RTA or similar maintenance software, including work orders, PM schedules, and vehicle documentation.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, facility inspections, and enforce policies such as LOTO, Hot Works, and Fall Protection.
- Manage parts inventory, container tracking, and ensure shop cleanliness and professionalism.
- Review DVIRs and coordinate defect resolution with appropriate personnel.
- Handle employee relations, including coaching, disciplinary actions, and scheduling time off.
- Investigate and report work-related injuries and vehicle incidents promptly.
- Train new personnel on equipment use and company procedures.
- Respond to incident alerts and action item emails in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing fleet repair operations and supervising heavy-duty mechanics.
- In-depth knowledge of HD engines, transmissions, and mechanical systems.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable using standard office equipment and maintaining continuous hand-eye coordination.
