JOB TITLE: Home Health Aide (HHA) Director
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Home Health Aide Director will serves as a key leader in our company and is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the home health care agency, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient administrative processes. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of home health care practices and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for Home Health Aide and Nursing services in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide visionary leadership to Home Health Aide and Nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of Home Health Aides and other staff.
- Manage patient intake, assessment, and care planning processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records and care plans.
Budgetary Oversight:
- Manage departmental budgets, monitor expenditures, and optimize financial performance while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to achieve budgetary goals without compromising patient care outcomes.
- Coordinate with Office Manager to request the procurement of medical supplies and equipment.
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure Home Health Aide and Nursing practices comply with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and healthcare policies.
- Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, monitoring clinical outcomes, and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient care quality.
- Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits.
- Review patient satisfaction surveys and make necessary improvements.
Staff Development and Engagement:
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate department staff, promoting professional growth and development through education, training, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and a culture of patient-centered care.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and support.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care delivery and optimize clinical outcomes.
- Facilitate communication between department staff and senior management, advocating for patient care while actively shaping organizational decisions.
Program Development:
- Develop and implement new programs and services to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continually improve services.
Communication:
- Oversight of communications between coordinators and patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Facilitate communication between home health aides and other healthcare professionals.
- Address patient and family concerns promptly and professionally.
Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management:
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans and protocols to ensure readiness for potential crises or disasters affecting patient care operations.
- Lead response efforts during emergencies, coordinating nursing staff and resources to maintain continuity of care and ensure patient safety.
- Communicate with all relevant stakeholders prior, during and after crises.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in a healthcare management role, preferably in home health care, strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of home health care regulations and standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in healthcare software and electronic health records (EHR) systems including but not limited to HHAExchange.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Working Conditions:
- Typically works regular office hours, but may require additional hours to manage emergencies or special projects.
- Works in healthcare environments, interacting with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
