Job Title: Lab ManagerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Manager to oversee the daily operations of our labs, ensuring optimal performance to meet project demands. This role is perfect for someone with experience in both individual and collaborative laboratory settings, with a strong background as a technical lead on project teams. Responsibilities + Oversee daily operations in labs to ensure optimal performance for meeting project demand. + Install equipment and run cables in equipment cabinets. + Procure materials and allocate equipment resources. + Maintain laboratory equipment and supply inventory, arranging for repairs and replacements when necessary. + Conduct regular operational system checks and safety assessments to identify issues and mitigate potential risks. + Collaborate with other departments to integrate laboratory activities with organizational objectives. + Develop and maintain laboratory policies, procedures, and technical documentation. + Understand and adhere to corporate safety standards and protocols. + Foster a collaborative laboratory work environment. + Train and mentor assigned laboratory staff to ensure competence and understanding of protocols. + Seek opportunities for improvement in laboratory processes to boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy. Essential Skills + Experience in an engineering lab environment. + Experience in Telecommunication, Data center, or Production environment. + Experience with equipment cabinets. + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. + Excellent organizational and time-management skills. + Strong leadership and team-building abilities. + Attention to detail, high standards of accuracy, and good problem-solving skills. + Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Engineering lab, telecommunication, data center, production equipment, rack and stack. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 2+ years of experience with an Associate's Degree or several years of relevant experience. + Prior experience in a laboratory management role, including installing equipment and managing inventory. Work Environment The role requires being in the office every day, with opportunities for work from home on Fridays. This position is integral to the management and smooth operations of onsite labs, providing a challenging and rewarding environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
