Day to Day:
This position is responsible for performing support functions in the daily operations of a legal division by managing case files, conducting legal research, initial review of pleadings, discovery and motions, and coordinating with outside counsel.
1. Coordinate document collection, organization, and production of discovery.
2. Assists with witness and deposition preparation, including witness files, scheduling, coordinating with outside counsel.
3. Maintain litigation calendars, track deadlines and coordinate same with internal resources and external counsel.
4. Support management of outside counsel, including budget tracking, assisting with invoice review.
5. Support management of third party subpoena process and responses.
6. Partner with members of the legal team on special projects and initiatives as needed.
7. Support evaluation and review of execution of disinvite, cease and desist and other legal correspondence.
Must have knowledge, skills or abilities:
· 5+ years of Experience
· Solid Microsoft Office skills and legal case management/e-discovery software;
· Strong legal drafting and organizational skills; detail oriented
· Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities with minimal supervision
· Capable of creating templates and forms for documents and collecting metrics
· Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, confidentiality, and collaboration
