Smaller community hospital looking to bring on Nurse Director Med/Surg!
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Med Surg has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and nursing services and their effect on patient care. The Director of Med Surg has authority to make decisions in the areas of patient care, human resources, and financial management.
Education and/Experience:
BSN preferred. Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current license as RN in Texas, or a Compact state
3+ years’ acute care clinical experience with Management.
CPR
ACLS
TNCC
ENPC or PALS
CEN preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises nursing directors and nursing staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems along with department directors.
