Job Description

AppleOne is assisting a consulting firm with finding a Program Scheduler to assist with a large expansion project in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities essential to this position include:

• Develop construction schedules using Primavera Project Planning software (P6) and MS Project

• Work closely with Program Managers to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules of projects using Primavera Project Planning software (P6) and MS Project 2007/2010

• Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, and other program management tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work authorizations, priority-based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration

• Develop schedule version control processes, policies, and procedures and ensures that they are followed on product development schedules

• Work in collaboration with Project/Program Management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting

• Supports the program management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects/programs.

• Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, base lining, schedule status updates, and performance measurements

• Identify major milestones, decision points, project life-cycle and other project events

• Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems

• Assist in defining and implementing schedule software (MS Project, Primavera, or specific program mandated software, etc.) management processes and procedures regarding scheduling conflicts/changes

• Develop and/or revise full resources and cost loaded project schedules

• Coordinate project reporting to clients, owners, partners, etc.

• Prepare conceptual level schedules for the use in program planning.

• Prepare detailed construction schedules for aviation projects and programs.

• Review and analyze schedules from design and construction teams for completeness and overall effectiveness.

• Manage resource requirements

• Provide look-ahead schedules as well as other schedule updates

• Provide analysis, progress reports and change impact analysis

• Provide training for software, Last Planner System, and planning and scheduling of projects as required.

• Communicate issues with Program Director and Airport Team

• Recovery Schedules and claim impacts

• Provide technical support for scheduling software, as needed

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering field or related field is required

• Minimum of 5 years of scheduling experience in commercial buildings construction and at least 10 years of experience in the construction industry

• Field experience in the construction industry in a role such as a Superintendent or Field Engineer is strongly preferred

• Must be experienced in Primavera software (P6)

• Experience with MS Project.

• Knowledge of, and ability to understand, the scheduling processes, logic relationships, networks and Critical Path Method scheduling

• Maintain accurate records/paperwork

• Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews

• Creative and innovative, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in work style to better respond to multiple requests/tasks and handle sudden changes in priorities. Able to embrace and participate in change initiatives

• Superior interpersonal and demonstrated facilitation skills, including the ability to motivate and influence others, build effective interpersonal relationships, and be able to foster and contribute to a positive and productive team environment

• Strong knowledge of construction systems and trade sequencing

• Experience in the development of logical sequencing of the work, contract durations and phasing

• Experience working for a general contractor preferred

• Strong Organizational and Presentation skills required for training and meetings

• Ability to read construction drawings, specifications and project documentation

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to work efficiently and communicate within a team setting.

• Ability to effectively interface with all projects in the business unit, as well as outside subcontractors and stakeholders.

• Ability assist project team in all aspects of the project schedule preparation

• Ability to travel as needed is required

Supervision/Direction:

• Provides oversight, direction and management of Schedulers on the projects and program, as assigned.
