Job Description

We at HirePower are looking for a Respiratory Therapist to join our client’s team who has the vision of making a fully integrated health system for all New Yorkers. You will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in high-acuity units, including the Neonatal ICU (NICU), Pediatric ICU (PICU), Medical ICU (MICU), and Emergency Room (ER). The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking, technical expertise, and a compassionate approach in managing patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Responsibilities

• Administer a wide range of respiratory therapy treatments and interventions in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Provide ventilator management and airway care, including suctioning, intubation assistance, and extubating.
• Respond to emergency situations, including code blue, code pink, and rapid response calls.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, bronchodilator therapy, and pulmonary function testing.
• Document all care accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and home care techniques as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Required: Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NBRC certification
• New York State license (NYSED)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in NICU, PICU, MICU, and Emergency Room (ER) settings.
