Software Engineer - Healthcare Technology

Location:** Lincoln, NE (In-office)

Type:** Full-Time

Experience Level:** Mid to Senior

About Us

We're building the future of patient safety with the SURe Nursing Advisor, an innovative patient monitoring system that helps hospitals reduce falls and improve care outcomes. Our technology combines advanced pressure sensors, real-time analytics, and cloud-based alerting to give healthcare teams the insights they need to keep patients safe.

Following successful hospital trials, we're looking to expand our product capabilities based on real-world feedback from healthcare providers. This is your chance to join an early-stage medical technology company making a measurable difference in patient care.

The Role

We're looking for a talented software engineer to join our small team in Lincoln, NE. You'll work directly on expanding and enhancing our SaaS platform, building new features that integrate with hospital systems, and creating intuitive interfaces for healthcare staff. This is a hands-on role where your code will directly impact clinical workflows and patient safety.

What You'll Work On

- Enhance and extend our real-time alert engine and web analytics portal

- Build responsive React interfaces for nurse-station dashboards and mobile applications

- Create integrations with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems

- Design and build RESTful APIs for hospital system integrations

- Contribute to architecture decisions as we scale our platform based on customer trials

- Collaborate with clinical partners to translate user feedback into product features

Required Qualifications

- **Strong proficiency in JavaScript**

- **Production experience with React** including hooks, state management, and component architecture

- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs

- Comfortable working with real-time data streams and event-driven architectures

- Understanding of web application security best practices

- Ability to write clean and maintainable code

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

- **MeteorJS** experience (our current stack includes Meteor for real-time websocket based updates)

- **Golang** experience for working with and expanding our backend data processing services

- Experience with IoT device management or edge computing

- Knowledge of healthcare data standards

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform)

- Experience with real-time dashboards and data visualization

What We Offer

- **Direct impact:** Your work will help reduce patient falls and improve healthcare outcomes

- **Early-stage opportunity:** Shape product direction and technical architecture from the ground up

- **Customer-driven development:** Work closely with real hospitals and healthcare providers

- **Collaborative environment:** Small team where every voice matters

- **Professional growth:** Expand your skills across the full stack and into healthcare technology

- Competitive salary and benefits

Our Tech Stack

- **Frontend:** React, JavaScript, Meteor

- **Backend:** Node.js, Meteor, MongoDB, Golang

- **Embedded:** C++, TI-RTOS

About This Opportunity

We're at an exciting inflection point. Our product is validated through successful pilot trials, and we're now expanding capabilities based on direct customer feedback. You'll be joining as one of our early full-time in-house developers, giving you significant influence over our technical direction and product roadmap.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to move beyond building features in isolation and instead create technology that solves real problems for healthcare providers and patients.

**To Apply:** Please send your resume, a brief cover letter explaining your interest in technology development, and links to (or write up about) any relevant projects or GitHub profile.
