Job Overview

The Sterile Lab Technician plays a critical role in producing safe, high-quality sterile compounded medications that directly impact patient health and outcomes. Operating within MediVera’s USP <797>/<800> cleanroom suite, this role performs aseptic compounding, maintains regulatory compliance, and safeguards the integrity of our sterile production environment.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Performs sterile compounding using validated aseptic techniques in compliance with USP <797> , <800> , and state/federal regulations, ensuring every product meets MediVera’s high quality standards.
  • Maintains the ISO-classified cleanroom environment through daily/weekly cleaning, sanitization, and environmental control tasks, demonstrating respect for all by ensuring patient-safe conditions.
  • Executes production activities including equipment setup, labeling, calculations, filtration, and documentation with accuracy, detail , and pride in everything you do .
  • Supports production planning by preparing batches, staging materials, and collaborating with pharmacists and supervisors to meet daily compounding goals.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives—such as 5S, root cause analysis, and waste reduction—to enhance workflow efficiency and embody a growth mindset .
  • Conducts quality support activities such as visual inspection, sample handling, cleaning validations, and inventory rotation (FIFO), demonstrating positive team spirit .
  • Ensures proper garbing, gowning, and adherence to cleanroom behavioral expectations at all times to protect product sterility and team safety.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors, pharmacists, and peers regarding workload, equipment issues, and process improvements, contributing to a collaborative and respectful work environment.

Attributes & Skills

  • Prior experience as sterile compounding pharmacy technician.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique, aseptic behavior, and cleanroom operations.
  • Ability to follow detailed written procedures, compounding formulas, and batch records.
  • Skilled in basic math calculations, measurements, and accuracy-driven tasks.
  • Comfortable working in PPE, including masks, gowns, gloves, and sterile garb for extended periods.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-paced production environment.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work output and cleanroom compliance.
