School Law Attorney

Robert Half has partnered with a well-established law firm in Longmont on the search for a public sector/local government attorney to join their local government practice group, specializing in the representation of school and special districts. Candidates interested in this position should have 6+ years of experience in public sector law. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Serve as general counsel and provide strategic legal advice to school districts and special districts on a wide range of issues.
• Represent public sector clients in negotiations, contract drafting and review, litigation, and employment practices.
• Offer counsel on personnel matters, including teacher dismissals, employee terminations, and collective bargaining agreements.
• Advise on construction projects and real estate transactions, ensuring compliance and mitigating legal risks.
• Support clients with expertise in policy formation, election law, board governance, public records, and open meetings.
• Provide guidance on special education laws and discipline matters while addressing the unique needs of school districts.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and proactive communication within the local community.
• Conduct legal research to stay informed on state and federal education laws and ensure clients remain compliant with regulatory changes.
• Attend occasional evening meetings to address client needs as required.

Candidates interested in this attorney position should have an active license in good standing with the Colorado Bar. This position is fully in office to start and could offer hybrid flexibility.
