Job Description

Ekspert Counsel is seeking a Billing Specialist to join our New York office of a Top 25 Global Law Firm. This role is a key part of the Firm's Client Services and Finance Operations and will support all aspects of the client billing process for a sophisticated, fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and finalize client invoices in accordance with approved billing arrangements.
• Collaborate closely with Client Services Lawyers (CSLs) and internal stakeholders to ensure timely billing and collections.
• Monitor unbilled time and generate proformas and draft bills.
• Prepare write-up/write-down requests and obtain required approvals.
• Generate billing reports, including fee and disbursement summaries.
• Prepare and distribute final bills to clients.
• Communicate with clients to resolve billing and collection inquiries.
• Assist with engagement letters in collaboration with CSLs.
• Maintain accurate and organized client billing files.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of legal billing experience.
• Experience with Aderant strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Salary Range (NY): $75,000 – $95,000 , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
