Job Description

Basu Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery is seeking a passionate and committed professional to serve as a surgical assistant/technologist. Seeking candidates who are have one of the following certifications/degrees: C.S.T., L.S.A., C.S.A.. Candidate will assist plastic surgeons in performing procedures at our state-licensed Beleza Ambulatory Surgery Center. In addition, candidate may assist team with care of patients after procedures. Excellent communication skills required for extensive patient contact, providing patients with procedure information, and assisting in post-operative surgical care. We are seeking a true champion of patient care to advance our core culture of exceptional patient-centered care. Open to new graduates to train. Prefer full-time but open to part-time.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Must have documented experience and proven track record in the O.R.

• O.R. room preparation:

- Check and maintain supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure

- Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions

- Perform standard operating protocols to ensure patient safety

- Maintain highest standard of sterile technique during procedure

- Assist with equipment sterilization and room turnover

• Help nursing team with post – op care including post-op instructions, post-op visits, suture removal, drain removal, take photographs

• Experience communicating and interacting with surgeons

• Comfortable using email and Internet applications

• Excellent communication skills and bedside manner

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in an operating room setting

• Current licensure required
