🧾 Job Overview

• Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Blood Bank ( $35 to $42 per hour )
• Facility: New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation
• Location: Bronx, New York, 10461
• Start Date: August 18, 2025
• Hours: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day
• Days per Week: 5
• Shift Timing: 12:00 AM – 9:00 AM (overnight shift), alternating weekends required
• Schedule Notes: Hybrid weekend coverage, must be available for rotating or alternating weekend shifts

✅ Must-Have Certifications & Licenses

• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (active and verifiable)
• BLS – preferred but not mandatory

🧪 Experience Requirements

• Minimum: 1 year of recent experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist specifically in a Blood Bank setting

📚 Education Requirements

• Must Have:
• Bachelor of Science or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Valid Clinical Laboratory Technologist license (License Code 092) from New York State Education Department (NYSED)
• Primary Source Verification of license required
• Preferred: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

🔧 Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Technologist Duties in the Blood Bank, including blood typing, screening, and crossmatching
2. Supervise workload assignments and assist in complex test performance
3. Train staff on instruments and test procedures
4. Maintain and implement quality control and quality assurance programs
5. Monitor and document equipment performance , reagent inventory, and temperature logs
6. Prepare for and participate in QA meetings , and maintain performance data
7. Collaborate on scheduling across multiple shifts (Tour I, II, III)

• Experience in test result interpretation
• Ability to lead QA/QC processes, handle inventory, and maintain instruments
• Comfort working overnight shifts and rotating weekends
