Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Managers are looking for candidates who are passionate about children, kind demeanor, flexible and transitions easily to change, organized, positive reinforcement classroom management, knowledgeable in Reggio methodology to teaching.

Required:

• At least 2 years experience in an early childhood education setting
• Reggio inspired center- play driven education/kinesthetic/multi-sensory driven in the creative process with the children- multiple ways to learn how to do something new; openness to meet children where they are.
• This center does not use worksheets or tv for educational learning.
• The population of children are children whose parents work at the client center- confidence with communicating with parents is key.

Children population:

• Infant to 3 years old will have co-teachers in the classroom. Children 3-5 (pre school age) will have one teacher per classroom.
• Teachers will be assigned to 8 shifts beginning at 8am-6pm. Those shifts will be decided at orientation.

Please note, they cannot guarantee certain shifts as shifts are decided based on the needs of the center. All teachers will work a full 40 hour week.

Staff Meeting-once a month; 1 hour in the evening- paid

Staff Training on Saturdays- paid

As the teachers are considered essential team members- support medical staff they do not have a typical teacher holiday schedule. Holidays off are Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Any other holidays, if worked on that day, they are paid 1.5.

There is a two-week orientation before classrooms and shifts are selected to allow teachers to learn about each age group.

These two week orientation hours are 9-6.
