Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Designer for a Direct Hire position with a client in Topeka, KS.

*** No Corp-to-Corp; No C2C; No Referrals from C2C ***

Rate Range: $32.00/hour to $36.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mechanical Designer job responsibilities include:

• Develop precise 3D models and shop drawings based on internal concepts or external references.
• Generate plans, sections, and detailed views from 3D models or architectural inputs for mid-to-large scale projects.
• Apply clear annotations and dimensions to production drawings in line with company standards.
• Organize and maintain drawing sets, including tracking revisions and updates.
• Convert digital drawings into various formats or prepare physical plots as needed.
• Produce 3D renderings or visual assets for presentations or marketing purposes when required.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Experience with 3D modeling software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD Inventor.
• Proficiency in 2D drafting using AutoCAD.
• Comfortable using standard Microsoft Office software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing environments.
• Self-driven with the ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines.
• Capable of interpreting and producing technical documentation and engineering drawings.
• Skilled in preparing professional correspondence and documentation to support project needs.
• Working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Understanding of metal assembly and welding procedures.
