Position Overview:

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Quality Assurance Nurse at – Flagstaff. This role ensures compliance with state, federal, and VA regulations , leads QAPI initiatives , conducts infection control surveillance , and provides staff education . Experience in wound care is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement QA policies, procedures, and infection prevention protocols.
• Conduct audits, interviews, and data analysis to monitor compliance.
• Review CASPER reports and develop QAPI-based performance improvement plans.
• Prepare reports, statistical analyses, and compliance summaries.
• Assist leadership with corrective action plans and follow-up.
• Lead Quality Assurance and Infection Control Committee meetings.
• Coordinate readiness for regulatory surveys and inspections.
• Investigate non-compliance, abuse, neglect, or mistreatment incidents.
• Develop and deliver staff training programs on QA and compliance.
• Track and trend infections using McGeer and non-McGeer criteria.
• Conduct daily infection control rounds to ensure adherence to care plans.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Principles of management, QA, and utilization review.
• Nursing home regulations (OBRA, CMS, VA) and compliance standards.
• Adult education and staff training methods.
• Analytical skills and report interpretation.
• Problem-solving and effective communication across all levels.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Arizona.
• Infection Preventionist Certification.
• Wound Care Nurse experience preferred.
• DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• CPR/BLS Certification.
• 2-Step TB Test (current).
• Hepatitis B vaccination (or declination).
• COVID-19 Vaccine Card.
• Valid AZ Driver’s License.
• Must pass background, OIG/SAM clearance, and drug testing.
