We are seeking an experienced Guidance, Navigation, and Control \(GNC\) Engineer who will specialize in Modeling and Simulation \(M&S\) of complex technical solutions to join our team in sunny Orlando Florida\! **What You Will Be Doing** This person will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control\. Modeling & Simulation Engineer tasks include: - Design and documentation of model and simulation requirements and architecture - Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6\-degree\-of\-freedom simulations \(6\-DOF\) and effects\-based simulations - Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements - Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities - Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware\-In\-The\-Loop \(HWIL\) activities - Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers\. The candidate must have experience in weapon system and/or sensor modeling, both for the items to be modeled, and the synthetic modeled environments used to stimulate the simulated hardware\. The M&S Engineer must be able to work with subsystem and software engineers to integrate MATLAB models, C\+\+ models, and actual tactical software into the simulations\. The M&S Engineer must be proficient in C\+\+ and MATLAB\. Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position\. \#mfcnews **Basic Qualifications:** - Post secondary STEM degree with 5\+ years of relevant experience\. - An active U\.S\. DOD Secret clearance with an investigation date or CV in the last 5 years - Willing to work onsite in a classified area or lab environment - Demonstrated experience in digital simulation development for infrared sensor systems - Professionally demonstrated advanced proficiency in C\+\+ - Professionally demonstrated advanced proficiency in Matlab or Python - Professionally demonstrated strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations - Strong written/verbal communication and organizational and interpersonal skills **Desired Skills:** - Active US DoD Top Secret clearance - Experience operating in Linux environments - Experience with Agile development - Experience performing one or more of the following technical GNC assignments: o Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms o Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6\-degree\-of\-freedom simulations o Demonstrated strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations o Develop, verify and validate complex Electro Optical / InfraRed and/or Radio Frequency sensor models o Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses - Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real\-time performance requirements - Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\. **Clearance Level:** Top Secret **Other Important Information You Should Know** **Expression of Interest:** By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\.
