Our Approach to Teaching Middle School Math
At RMP, we don’t just teach math – we teach students to be lifelong, strategic problem solvers. We focus on mathematical practice standards and give students opportunities to think critically, collaborate with peers, and justify their strategies. Math teachers will create an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes problem-solving, math discourse, conceptual understanding, and fluency with grade-level knowledge and skills described in the Common Core Math Standards. They understand that mistakes are a valuable part of learning and encourage students to take academic risks. Math teachers are an integral part of our educational team, working collaboratively with their coach and peers to ensure our students' academic success by implementing the RMP Math Academic Program & Resources.
