HOPE Academy seeks a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Teaching Assistant to support our Christ-centered educational mission. This role provides essential, hands-on assistance within the classroom, ideal for an individual who enjoys working with young children and thrives in a collaborative and nurturing environment.

While this position does not involve independent lesson instruction, the Teaching Assistant plays a key role in the daily life of the classroom—supporting the lead teacher, helping students remain focused and engaged, and contributing to a positive learning atmosphere where children grow both academically and spiritually.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Teaching Assistant at HOPE Academy in Concord, NC.

• Support teachers during classroom instruction, transitions, and activities
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce concepts and encourage engagement
• Assist with preparing learning materials and maintaining classroom organization
• Help supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times
• Contribute to school-wide events and educational activities as needed
• Demonstrate Christ-like character and model Christian values throughout the school day

Qualifications

• A warm, patient, and proactive presence in the classroom
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Prior experience working with children in a school or ministry setting is a plus
• A personal commitment to Christian faith and the mission of HOPE Academy
• A collaborative team player who’s eager to serve and support
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred but not required
