Job Description

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Location: Simi Valley, CA | On-site | Full-time

We are partnering with a client in the construction/engineering field seeking an Expeditor/Draftsman to support their projects. This role focuses on ensuring smooth plan approvals, maintaining accurate project documentation, and collaborating with engineers, project managers, and city officials. The ideal candidate has strong experience with CAD software, understands construction/drafting processes, and is comfortable managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

General Summary

The Expeditor/Draftsman will be responsible for revising and submitting plans, coordinating with city departments, conducting site visits, and supporting project engineers and managers throughout the production process. This position requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and a solid understanding of construction principles. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are key to success.

Responsibilities

• Revise drawings and address plan check comments with city personnel and project engineers.
• Conduct site visits with engineers to assess repairs and confirm project details.
• Submit plans online and in person; coordinate with city departments to secure approvals and clearances.
• Maintain accurate project records and provide updates to clients and managers.
• Support drafting team and engineers with revisions, documentation, and ongoing project needs.
