**Description:** **What We're Doing** Become a part of something IMPACT\-ful\! Ground Missile Defense \(GMD\) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks\. The GMD Weapon System \(GWS\) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat\. **The Work** The Linux System Admin maintains smooth operation of multi\-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators\. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space\. They will interact with users and evaluate vendor products as well as make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery\. Learn more about Lockheed Martin's comprehensive benefits package here\! \( \#rmshotmiljobs **Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline - Experience with Systems Administration for Linux Operating Systems such as RedHat Enterprise Linux \(RHEL\) - Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification \(ex: Security \+ CE\) - Experience with various scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc\. - Active U\.S\. DoD Secret Security clearance **Desired Skills:** - Active Linux Certifications \(Linux\+, RHCSA, RHCE\) - Experience with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes, Nexus, Docker, GitLab, etc\. - Experience with security compliance and related security scanning products \(ACAS\) - Experience in enterprise backup and restore solutions, storage area network \(SAN\), and network attached storage \(NAS\) - Experience with network administration and related infrastructure - Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\. **Clearance Level:** Secret **Other Important Information You Should Know** **Expression of Interest:** By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\.
